Creative Ministries

Let’s get creative!

One of the first things God did in relationship to humanity was create – and look at how creative God’s creation was (and is). You are created to create, too. Within you is the ability to be creative.

The Creative Ministries at FUMC has lots of ways you can get those creative juices flowing for the glory of God.

Our magic ministry shares Christian messages through the art of illusion. If you’ve ever wanted to be a magician or even an assistant, come join us! Age 15 or older (younger by special arrangement). Learn more here.

We’re not talking sock puppets. Virtuous Reality Puppets is a black light theater team that shares the Good News through puppetry and blacklight techniques. They perform at churches, festivals and conferences. Persons who are 10 or older may participate. Learn more here.
Clowning reaches out with the Gospel in ways and places that other methods can’t. Clowns let others know they are loved and that they make a difference. Clowning is a fun way to serve others. Persons sixteen years or older are encouraged to find the clown inside of them. Join the fun! They participate in parades, perform programs for children and adults at churches, festivals, etc.
Visual Arts & Video
If you have artistic skills or a good eye for decorating, videotaping or editing, there are many ways you can get involved at the church. Set designs, painting, room decor/design, bulletin board displays, costuming, banners, stoles and more! A very flexible ministry allows you the freedom to be as involved as you would like.

The Lancaster Holiday Parade is November 23rd at 10 a.m. The theme is “The Magic of a Hometown Holiday”. We need lots more volunteers to make our entry magical! Are you a skater? A stilt-walker? A hover board expert? We are looking for these people along with people who can walk OR ride. We plan to have a “train” with cars that can hold kids or adults that cannot walk the length of a parade. Would you like to be a reindeer or a Gingerbread man? What about the Elf on the Shelf? There are MANY positions to be filled! Sign up in the parlor today! Special Thanks to Edna Hoch, Ginny Benson and Lisa Strohm for making new costumes.

Our Nativity Display at Crossroads goes up the weekend of the Holiday Parade. Friday evening (Nov. 22), 6-9 p.m. We pull things out to be staged for Saturday’s build (2 p.m.-11p.m.) Then Sunday from 2-11 p.m. we continue. This is a marvelous outreach to our community and beyond. Come and be a part of sharing the true meaning of Christmas.

Mark your calendar for the Blacklight Christmas Show on Sunday, December 8th, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
See the holiday in a new light! Fun for all ages.
