The Higher Education Outreach Committee is collecting items for care packages to send to our college students as they pursue their studies. Collection area is in the Parlor. Please consider donating some of the items to remind our college students that their church family is thinking of them even as they are away. All items must fit in a small box for mailing. Thank You!

We love our Pastors! We have boxes set up in the Parlor if you’d like to send or bring a card or a gift to Pastor Brian or Pastor Amy to show your appreciation!

We want to celebrate anything you are doing at the Fairfield County Fair this year! We’d like pictures of what you are submitting, and we invite you to share with the congregation on Fair Sunday, October 16th!” Please send pics to Lisa Schenck, lisaschenck@love-first.org and let us know if you’d like to share with the Congregation on Oct. 16th.

TRINITY CIRCLE has begun meeting again! Their special project will be joining in the card ministry at the church making beautiful handmade cards for those who are homebound and  others.  All supplies and instruction in making the cards will be furnished.  ALL WOMEN AND YOUNG LADIES ARE WELCOME to join us on the following dates:  September 9, October 14, November 11, December 9

All meetings will be in Room 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Volunteers are needed for the Halloween Carnival at Crossroads on October 29th. Jobs are simple but all are important. Many can be done sitting down. Sign up in the Parlor to help with this community outreach. We also need donations of candy (chocolate welcome!) to hand out on the trail. Donation boxes are in the Parlor and at Crossroads Tower Hall. If you prefer to give a financial gift, make it out to the First United Methodist and earmark it “Carnival”.

October 30th is not only Family Worship Sunday but also Grandparent’s Sunday at Lancaster First UMC! We will celebrate these special folks in our lives at both the 9:00 and 10:30 services. At the end of each service, we will offer an opportunity for grandchildren and grandparents to have their pictures taken! So children, bring your grandparents (or friends and neighbors who are like grandparents!), and grandparents bring your grandchildren (or friends and neighbors who are like grandchildren!) so we can all worship together on October 30th!

A reminder that cyber-criminals and con artists are using more and more technology to scam people. Please know that should you ever receive an email or text from anyone on staff asking for money or gift-cards, it’s not from the staff. Should you receive an email or text or are ever in doubt, please feel free to call the church at 740-653-3330, and we will take the appropriate action. Thank you!
