One of the best ways to grow in our faith is to be in a small group with others—to study and wrestle with God’s Word with others, ask questions, learn from each other, share with each other, and pray with and for each other. First United Methodist Church offers a variety of small groups, and we invite you to check them out! If you would like to learn more about these small groups or to form a new small group that we don’t currently have, please contact the church, 740-653-3330.
Please pray about joining one of our small groups—or starting one of your own:
Tuesdays 6:30 p.m. Crossroads Community – Various relevant topics & scriptures
Worshipful Bible study with small group discussion (4-Square Rm. at Crossroads)
Wednesdays 4:00 p.m. Pastor’s Bible Study – Studies scriptures for following Sunday’s worship
Led by Pastor Brian (Conference Rm. at Crossroads)
Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. The Gathering – Small, informal time of worship and study
Led by Pastor Brian (Prayer Rm. at Crossroads)

Ready to start reading the Bible? Come join us! The Faith Matters Sunday school will begin on September 24th with a 5-week study on Galatians. No book is needed other than a Bible (and we have extras if needed!) All adults and youth are welcome, whether you’ve read the Bible for decades or don’t even know where to start. Join us in Room 22 on Sundays from 10:15-11:30. Talk to Sam or Renee Benham to learn more. The Faith Matters Sunday school class will then do a 4-week study on Ephesians from Oct 29th – Nov 19th.

Come volunteer with First Community Kitchen! We take care of each other, pray with each other and our guests, and share the Bible with each other and our guests. Contact Judy Kraft at 740-653-3330 for more information.

Ark Builders Sunday school class will begin a new Christian 4-week study this Sunday at 9AM. It is entitled, “On Purpose, Finding God’s Voice in Your Passion.” It is a four-part exploration of the spiritual principles that allow us to listen to God, discover our purpose and passion, join with others in the journey, and, ultimately, make a difference in the world around us. If you have any questions, please contact Joe Clark at 740-654-8766. Hope to study with you as we grow closer in our relationship with God.
