Join a Small Group!

One of the best ways to grow in our faith is to be in a small group with others—to study and wrestle with God’s Word with others, ask questions, learn from each other, share with each other, and pray with and for each other. First United Methodist Church offers a variety of small groups, and we invite you to check them out! If you would like to learn more about these small groups or to form a new small group that we don’t currently have, please contact the church, 740-653-3330.

An Introduction to the Minor Prophets
Join the Faith Matters Sunday school class at 10:15am on Sundays in room 22 for a 6-week introduction to the minor prophets. April 23rd through May 30th we will read and discuss the Old Testament books of Joel, Amos, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Obadiah, and Malachi. Haven’t heard of these books before? No problem! No book required other than your Bible. All are welcome. April 23rd will begin with the book of Joel. Please read the book of Joel ahead of time, if possible.

Ark Builders adult Sunday school class will be beginning a new study by James W. Moore entitled, “Jesus’ Parables About Making Choices.”  It’s a 6-week study and the books will be available in the Parlor on Palm Sunday, April 2nd. he class will begin on the Sunday, April 16th, in Room 22 at 9:00 AM. The first class will cover the Introduction and Chapter 1. Jesus’ parables slip up on us. They flip our values. They turn our world upside down. They surprise us. They are always relevant and personal. Join us each week beginning April 16 or any Sunday thereafter for six weeks. The book selection for June 6 is “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.” Author: Kim Michele Richardson Lite Refreshments will be served. There will be no July meeting, with the next scheduled meeting August 1. August book selection will be chosen at the June meeting.
