BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR/TREASURER

Job Type: Part-time/Full-time (30-40 hours per week)

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Our church is active in mission, discipleship, and community outreach, and we are seeking a dedicated Business Administrator to help us steward our resources and support our ministries with excellence and integrity.

Position Overview:

The Business Administrator is responsible for managing the daily administrative, financial, and facility operations of the church. This individual also serves as the Treasurer, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting. The Business Administrator supports the church’s mission by overseeing office functions, supervising staff, and coordinating with contractors and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Administration / Treasurer Duties

  • Serve as the church’s Treasurer, providing regular financial reports to leadership and committees
  • Manage all financial operations including budgeting, accounting, and reporting
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and payroll taxes for a staff of 13 employees
  • Process accounts payable and perform bank reconciliations
  • Maintain stewardship records and documentation for audits and financial reviews
  • Collaborate with the Finance Committee and external accountant
  • Ensure compliance with United Methodist financial guidelines


Administrative & Staff Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day office operations and inventory
  • Supervise and schedule office staff and independent contractors
  • Maintain donor database
  • Support the Senior Pastor and staff with scheduling and coordination


Human Resources Support

  • Assist with hiring and onboarding of staff and volunteers
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records
  • Monitor employee hours and manage time-off tracking

Qualifications:

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Experience in financial management or bookkeeping
  • Payroll and payroll tax processing experience required
  • Supervisory and scheduling experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database tools
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a church or nonprofit setting preferred
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the United Methodist Church
  • Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field or equivalent work experience desired
