February 11, 8:30 a.m., at Crossroads Ministry Center: You can make a difference in the life of others! There are projects for every age and ability! Projects we’re working on: Wood Ministry No experience necessary! We’ll train! If you enjoy the great outdoors, this project is for you! We cut, split, and stack wood. We also deliver split wood to community members who burn wood to heat their homes. Wear work clothes for the weather and bring work gloves. Pillowcase Ministry Santa Rich needs our help making pillowcases to handout at Christmas! This project is for those who can sew and non-sewers alike! We need folks to iron, fold, and place completed pillowcases in a bag with a printed prayer. If you can sew or would like to learn how to sew pillowcases, we need you!
No experience is necessary, just a heart to help others in our community. If you have any questions concerning Second Saturday, please contact Judy Kraft at
740-653-3330 or at judykraft@love-first.org.

Featured Mission: First Community Kitchen
Did you know? The First Community Kitchen was the dream of a Disciple II class member. He inspired the class and together they kept pushing for their dream until the Hunger Ministry Task Force was formed and they worked out the details. First Community Kitchen served its first lunch on February 5, 1996. They served 111 people the first 10 weeks they were in operation. They now average 60-90 meals per day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). Christ calls us to reach out to all who are in need. It is not up to us to determine if a person is worthy of receiving care, only to know that when we serve others we are serving the Christ.
