Sunday School

Adult Sunday School: We’d love to have you join us!God calls all of us to keep growing in our faith throughout our lives, and what better way to do that than in Sunday school! We encourage you to participate in one of our two discipleship opportunities during Sunday school beginning in September.

Ark Builders (led by Joe Clark)                        10:00 a.m. Currently meeting online “Ark Builders” Sunday School class that normally meets on Sunday mornings at 9am is presently doing a ZOOM class/meeting online at 10am on Sunday mornings. Everyone is invited to join the class online. All you have to do is get the ZOOM.US app on your smart phone, computer, or other internet device. A few minutes before the class starts, join the class by clicking on the “join” button on your screen once you’ve clicked on your ZOOM app. Where your name is on the screen, type in the following id: 718-529-4130, and then the password: “FUMC”. If you have trouble, call Joe Clark at 740-654-8766. The class is studying Max Lucado’s book “Unshakable Hope”. The student guide for the class can be purchased for $7.00 for the Kindle edition or $9.00 for the book on Amazon. We have started the 2nd session of the book of 12 sessions, so feel free to come in at anytime until we finish this study by November. Each session in the study guide is about 8-10 pages of reading, and there is a 15 minute video for the class, as well. Our class lasts about an hour, sometimes longer depending on the discussion. Members of the class feel comfortable just listening or participating as much as they are spiritually guided.  Please join us for Christian discussion, some socializing, and prayer.

2020 Discipleship: Growing Together While We’re Apart We face many challenges during this pandemic, and one of them is staying connected with God and each other. Do you long for good fellowship and face-to-face conversations? Do you want to meet with a small group for prayer, sharing, and encouragement? Do you want to grow deeper in your faith? Do you want to better understand God’s Word in light of the challenges we’re facing in our world today—challenges like racism, why does God allow suffering, etc.? Do you long for something more to help you keep growing in your faith and relationship with Christ?  If you answered “YES” to any of these questions, please contact Pastor Alice (alicewolfe@love-first.org or 740-653-3330) to learn more about participating in or leading an online group. We would like to start a variety of online small groups to meet the needs of the people. By God’s grace, we can keep growing together (in our relationships with God and each other) while we’re apart!
